Last updated: April 4, 2026
Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using Preceda ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Description of service
Preceda is a legal research platform that provides access to case law, legislation, citation analysis, judge and lawyer intelligence, and an AI-powered matter agent for legal document drafting. The Service is available at preceda.ai and app.preceda.ai.
Not legal advice
The information provided by Preceda is for research and informational purposes only. It does not constitute legal advice. AI-generated drafts, search results, citation analysis, and intelligence profiles are tools to assist qualified legal professionals — they are not substitutes for professional legal judgment. You should not rely on any output from the Service as the sole basis for legal decisions.
Accounts
You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must not share your account credentials or allow others to access your account.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Systematically scrape, download, or bulk-extract data from the Service
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits or access controls
- Redistribute, resell, or sublicense access to the Service or its data
- Interfere with the operation of the Service or its infrastructure
- Misrepresent AI-generated content as your own professional legal opinion to a court without independent verification
AI-generated content
The AI matter agent generates drafts, analysis, and suggestions based on the facts you provide and the case law in our corpus. While we verify citations against our database, we do not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or legal sufficiency of any AI-generated output. You are responsible for reviewing, verifying, and professionally certifying all documents before filing or relying on them.
Intellectual property
Case law and legislation in our corpus are public domain legal materials. The selection, arrangement, analysis, intelligence profiles, and AI-generated content are proprietary to Preceda. Drafts you create using the matter agent are yours — we claim no ownership over your work product.
Service availability
We aim to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any losses arising from service interruptions.
Payment and subscriptions
Paid plans are billed monthly or annually as indicated at the time of purchase. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Preceda and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to reliance on AI-generated content, search results, or intelligence data.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.
Changes to terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in New Delhi, India.
